One of my favorite things about being a Denver engagement photographer is all of the incredible couples I get to meet and work with! Shannon and Sonny actually are long time personal training clients of my husband, Chris. I had met them a couple times briefly while I was taking kickboxing classes at the gym where he was training them. Quick shoutout to 212 Degrees Fitness– the best local gym in Littleton, Colorado! Whoot whoot! Haha. I was so excited to hear they got engaged! And even more excited when they reached out to me when looking for a Denver engagement photographer!

Shannon is from Florida and loves the water. So they had the great idea of shooting the engagement session at Cherry Creek Reservoir! They were hoping for a springy Colorado engagement session. We decided to bump the session date back once because this Colorado winter has been holding on for dear life. This May session ended up being perfect! And I kid you not- when I was checking out Cherry Creek State Park a few days before our session, all the trees were still completely dead. Then they started blooming in those few days in between, and we had beautiful springy green trees for the engagement session! It was just so perfect.

These two are such a sweet couple. It’s obvious how much they enjoy each other’s company, and are so comfortable together. Sonny can make Shannon laugh at the drop of a hat! So she was laughing all session long, and it was just so much fun capturing the love and joy these two share! Experiencing that joy is one of my favorite things as a Denver engagement photographer.
