Soooo Annie and Calvin’s Centennial Airport wedding ceremony was nothing short of epic! Calvin is a marine and a pilot, and they wanted an aviation wedding ceremony to represent his career. It was also pretty special because his parents did the same thing for their wedding ceremony 30 years ago! I love stories like that 🙂

Annie got ready in a room near the hangar, and I began my day by capturing some sweet moments of her in there. She had her maid of honor and her mother helping her with the final touches and getting into the wedding dress. Her red lips and vintage updo were on point! They went with a red, blue and white color theme to tie into the aviation wedding. The details were just perfect!

It was super low key and laid back, and very small with a limited number of guests. Annie’s father walked her down the aisle inside the hangar, and halfway down she surprised Calvin by whipping out some aviators and having the music change to the Top Gun theme song! He absolutely loved it and it was such a fun and unique moment for the ceremony! I love when couples put personal touches like that in the ceremony! They proceeded with part of the ceremony in the hangar, and then walked out to the plane with both of their parents and the bridal party. They boarded, took off, and then exchanged vows while flying! How incredible is that?! They landed about 20 minutes later and returned to the ceremony for their first kiss. It was one of the most unique weddings I’ve shot to date and I can’t wait to shoot another aviation wedding!

It is no surprise that they fell in love with Jane and Steve’s gorgeous outdoor spring wedding in Athens, Georgia. Cloverleaf Farm was an absolute dream wedding venue! First, be sure to revisit their south Georgia engagement session we did! Then, let me take you on Jane and Steve’s love journey real quick because it’s real cute. 😉
It was their freshman year of college at the University of Georgia. Steve was the cute boy who worked at the student gym, and Jane was the girl who had suddenly developed a passion for “working out.” 8 months into her crush, Steve came up to talk to Jane one day, and she was so nervous that she literally ran away! 2 weeks later, after much mental preparation and many deep breaths, Jane introduced herself to Steve, and they had a lovely conversation. Soon after they went on their first date, and it was obvious that there was something really special developing. They dated for several years, and then got married on the 10 year anniversary of their first date! I knew Jane from UGA and was thrilled when she contacted me wanting to book for their engagement session and Athens Georgia wedding! I love going back to my old stompin grounds!

Jane’s dress was a beautiful beaded, vintage dress. This led to the overall 20’s inspiration for the wedding. She had her veil handmade which was AMAZING and you’re gonna die a little bit over it. The bridesmaids all picked their own dresses which went perfectly together! I think that current trend is so fun! You’ll see how incredible the wedding ceremony decor was with the white door setup. So creative and original! I loved it! So basically Jane and Steve had a lovely southern wedding  and I can’t wait to return to the south for my next Athens Georgia wedding! Misti and Matt had the most incredible Maroon Bells wedding, and it was absolutely unreal! They chose to have their ceremony at the Aspen wedding deck. We took the gondola up to the very top of the mountain. As you will see, the view was seriously breathtaking. The weather was absolutely perfect, and Misti’s tulle skirt, lace sleeves, and incredible veil were a bride’s dream!

After they said their sweet vows amidst all their loved ones, we ventured over to Maroon Bells. It provided an epic backdrop of bride and groom photos! Talk about a dreamworld setting! It was my first time visiting the iconic Maroon Bells. I must say it was more amazing in person than all the photos I’ve ever seen. It was absolutely stunning! I cannot wait to go back this fall for another wedding I’m shooting!

Val and John are the sweetest couple!  We did their wedding portraits on a beautiful, bright summer day in Denver.
