I had the best time ever photographing Austin’s proposal to Haley in the beautiful Colorado mountains! Austin emailed me looking for a Colorado proposal photographer, and I was thrilled! He and Haley were about to fly out to visit their best friend in Denver. He didn’t think Haley would be expecting a proposal at all, and he surely was right! These two live in Kentucky and have been together for 4 sweet years. Haley loves the mountains and we chose Loveland Pass as the perfect spot for him to pop the question!

Colorado Proposal Photographer

So the big day came. Austin and I had communicated that they had made it to Colorado. And they were on their way to Loveland Pass! I got in my spot and it wasn’t too long until I heard their group coming near. Haley’s friends were trying to convince her to go over to “the spot” so they could take a picture of her and Austin. The snow was literally up to her butt in some places, and she wasn’t having it! Let’s just say I could hear some choice words from my hiding spot haha! As a Colorado proposal photographer, I was pretending to take photos of the landscape while waiting for them to get to the proposal location. I finally see Austin get her to the spot, and pretty quickly pop down on one knee! It was so exciting!

Haley was overjoyed, shocked, beyond happy and it was all so fun! We did a little portrait session of them afterwards, they popped some champagne and celebrated with their friends. Lisa and Peter had their wedding on a beautiful day in September. They are locals and decided on a Boulder Colorado elopement in the gorgeous Boulder Canyon area called Betasso Preserve. It was just the two of them, their adorable son Bodhi and their parents.

They wanted an intimate wedding ceremony. I love when people choose to elope or have an intimate ceremony. It allows you to focus on the two for you, your love and commitment to each other! It also eliminates any potential family drama or other things that could cause stress with a bigger wedding.

But ultimately I believe everyone needs to do what feels right for them!

Boulder Colorado Elopement

I chose a beautiful spot for the ceremony in the middle of the field. The mountains were the backdrop, and it was so quiet and peaceful. Little Bodhi wanted to be held during the ceremony and wasn’t quite sure what was happening! But he is so adorable and did great all things considered.

After the ceremony we spent time taking some beautiful portraits. Then Lisa and Peter cut the cake and enjoyed some champagne with their sweet family.

One of my favorite parts about my job is all the incredible people I get the privilege of meeting. As a wedding photographer you get a glimpse into your clients’ lives. You get to see them surrounded by all their favorite people in the world. And you get to hear what their loved ones treasure the most about them. It’s just really special and it’s an honor. Melissa and Kurt are such a wonderful example of this privilege. They came all the way from Florida to have a Sapphire Point Elopement in beautiful Colorado.

First of all, Melissa just exudes kindness. She is like a radiant beam of light who just makes everyone feel welcomed. And Kurt is kind, funny and sensitive. Their first look is one of the most emotional ones I’ve yet to see. Kurt was just overwhelmed by Melissa’s beauty. It was so special to witness. Their maid of honor and best man only had incredible things to say about their character as well during the toasts. Pretty sure the whole room was crying at one point!

So to say their Sapphire Point Elopement was amazing, is an understatement! They had their wedding in September and the weather was a dream. As a Colorado mountain wedding photographer, I have to say this area around Lake Dillon is one of my favorites to photograph! I’m so glad Melissa and Kurt chose it for their stunning Colorado elopement.

Nicole and Dusty are such kind and wonderful humans! They had a Sunrise Amphitheater wedding on Flagstaff mountain in the beautiful Boulder Colorado. These two decided to have a Colorado elopement with their closest friends and family members. Nicole and Dusty chose an intimate wedding in order to focus on them and their loved ones! They wanted a lot of variety in their wedding portraits, so we went to a few different locations throughout the day!

We began with some getting ready photos at these adorable cabins behind Chautauqua Park. We did their first look in the beautiful gardens, which was so sweet! As a Boulder wedding photographer, I know that couples love the iconic Chautauqua Park for bride and groom portraits! So I was thrilled when I learned Nicole and Dusty wanted to start here. It was perfectly overcast, creating beautiful even light which is great for portraits!

Sunrise Amphitheater Wedding

Before heading to the Sunrise Amphitheater on Flagstaff mountain for their wedding ceremony, we stopped at Lost Gulch Lookout for some portraits with epic mountain views! Next up was Nicole and Dusty’s Sunrise amphitheater wedding ceremony. Their ceremony was absolutely beautiful! My favorite part was in their vows. Dusty talked about how he knew Nicole was the one when she showed up at a kid’s birthday party, who she didn’t even know yet, dressed up as a T Rex! After hearing this I gained a new respect for Nicole haha! I love the confidence! So basically I’m saying this Boulder Colorado elopement was an absolute dream! Boy do I have a story for you! Ilina and Garrett’s Lodge at Breckenridge wedding was one for the books! So we began the day with the first look outside of the lodge. Their first look was so sweet! We then headed over to the gondola and took the lift up to the top of the mountain for some epic Breckenridge bride and groom portraits! We knew we were going to be fighting some rain, but we brought umbrellas and went for it anyway! Anything for some incredible Colorado mountain bride and groom portraits right?!

So the rain starts when we we’re getting off the lift, then it lets up and the sun even comes out. We shoot some incredible stunning portraits on the top of the mountain in Breckenridge. Next thing we know, someone who works at the lift walks by and tells us that lightning just struck 20 miles away, and if it strikes within 15 miles, they have to shut down the lift. And it could take 1.5 hrs to get back down! So we’re ready to wrap this up. Less than a minute later, someone else walks by and said it struck within 15 miles and so the lift is shut down! Eek! We need to get Ilina and Garrett down the mountain for their Lodge at Breckenridge wedding ceremony!

Thankfully there weren’t many people up on the mountain, so we were able to get on the first shuttle down. It delayed us a little, bit thankfully we had plenty of time built in for mountain portraits. So we were fine! Our next stop was the iconic Sapphire Point Overlook at Lake Dillon. Ilina loves this spot and the stunning mountain and lake views!

Lodge at Breckenridge Wedding

Next on the journey was their Lodge at Breckenridge wedding ceremony with their closest fiends and family! This venue has incredible mountain views surrounding it. It quickly became one of my favorite Breckenridge Colorado wedding venues! Their ceremony was absolutely incredible. Family and friends laughed and cried and the love and support for these two was palpable! Ilina and Garrett even did a surprise performance of a Backstreet Boys song after their first dance! I’m telling you, these two are incredible!
